Collection Connections is a new exhibition program at the H&R Block Artspace at the Kansas City Art Institute. It features pairings of works from KCAI’s Fine Art Collection with works by local or regional artists. The inaugural exhibition is being realized through a partnership between Alison Miller's 2014 Museum Studies class at KCAI and Artspace assistant curator, Michael Schonhoff.
For the class, each student selected and presented a pairing for consideration. A selection of these pairings will be on display at the Artspace with every pairing being featured here on this blog site. These pairings aim to put local artists in conversation with objects in the Kansas City Art Institute’s Fine Art Collection creating new and interesting connectivity benefiting students, patrons, local artists, and the collection.
